Iwobi’s: Arsenal too strong for Gero’s Ostersunds

Arsenal cruised to a pretty straight forward 3-0 win over Oestersunds in one of the UEFA Europa League round of 32 matches played  on Thursday night.
Coach Arsene Wenger put out a very strong starting eleven which included Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi in a match played at the Jaemtkraft Arena in Sweden.
The modest Swedish side formed in 1996 same year Arsenal appointed Wenger prior to this game have not lost at home in the Europa League and did not concede more than 3 goals in all of their 6 group stage matches.
All that came to an end with a far more experienced and star studded English Premier League opposition in Arsenal when compared to the Swedish side who also started with Nigerian forward of their own, Alhaji Gero.
Goals from Nacho Monreal on 17 minutes, Sotirios Papagiannopoulos’ own goal minutes before the half-hour mark and Mezut Ozil strike in the second half was all the Gunners needed to see off Oestersunds and take a healthy 3 away goals ahead of the return leg at the Emirates Stadium next week.
Gero was taken off for Jamie Hopcutt in the 46th minute by the host who failed to trouble Arsenal in truth, while Iwobi played the entirety of the match for Arsenal.
Iwobi was a delight to watch as he made good runs, connected smooth passes to initiate attacks for Arsenal.
A late drama ensued when Tom Pettersson missed a 90th minute penalty for Oestersund after Sema was tripped by Bellerin.
